The Alamo Chapter of the Military Intelligence Corps Association (MICA) is proud to support our military community. As a charitable organization, we provide scholarships to help the families of Military Intelligence (MI) professionals pursue college, trade school, or continuing education.

Who Can Apply?
We offer scholarships to Spouses and Dependent Children of:
MI Active Duty, National Guard, or Army Reserve Soldiers.
Retired MI Personnel.
Gold Star MI Families.
Eligibility Categories
High School Seniors: Must be graduating from an accredited high school or homeschool program.
College Undergraduates: Currently enrolled in a higher education program.
Spouses: Seeking undergraduate/graduate degrees or technical certifications (must not be on active duty themselves).
Note: Applicants must hold a valid Military Dependent ID card. Priority is given to those assigned to or residing in the Joint Base San Antonio (JBSA) area, specifically Fort Sam Houston and Camp Bullis.
Requirements & Standards
To ensure a fair selection process, all applicants must meet the following minimum criteria:
Academic Standing: Minimum 2.5 GPA (for High School and Undergraduate applicants).
Community Service: At least 30 volunteer hours.
Engagement: Minimum of two extra-curricular activities (for students).
Essay: A written submission of at least 200 words.
Letter of Recommendation (LOR): Must be dated no earlier than November 1, 2025.
Full-Tuition Restriction: Applicants currently receiving a full-tuition scholarship (e.g., ROTC, Service Academy) are not eligible.
Our Selection Process
We are committed to a fair and confidential evaluation:
Blind Review: All personal identifiers (names, addresses) are removed and replaced with alpha-numeric codes before review.
Independent Judging: Applications are scored by five independent representatives from the Fort Sam Houston community.
Order of Merit: The MICA Scholarship Committee compiles these scores to create an Order of Merit List (OML).
Non-Discrimination: Selections are made without regard to race, sex, religion, or national origin.
Please note: A scholarship award is not guaranteed for all applicants. Award amounts vary based on available funds and the number of qualified applicants.
